Phenomenological approach

-        The Phenomenological approach says that   Individuals are “free agents” act within the four quadrants.

Ideal self
Real self
Private self
Public self
At any point in time an individual is in “real self” however, they are striving to achieve “ideal self”

Private self is who they are behind closed doors, with close friends or family,
Public self is who they are out in public, either at public events or just out in a public place

Can it be assumed that public self is closer to ideal self as that’s how they feel they should act amongst others, and therefore society has influenced what “ideal self” truly is?

Society, changing peoples opinions of themselves since 3,000 BC

we did psychology today at uni xD many questions
