there is still some hope for humanity

Normally rant and rave about how evil human beings are as a whole, and that we're all out for ourselves and blah de blah (if you've read my blog enough you know what its about)

but found this today on yahoo news:
http://uk.news.yahoo.com/puzzle-reveals-man-dying-cancer-101331278.html#ZqSzL7l

Obviously, a sad story, but this man has clearly accepted his fate, and isn't hung up about it (still working) and can happily make it public knowledge.

Not just anyone would be that selfless to accept they are dying, its one of the hardest things we, as a physical being, will ever have to go through, its coded into our brains to self preserve, its our basic instinct to fight and hide any form of weakness (from back when we lived out in the wild, and we were still hunted on a regular basis) given, there are becoming more and more people in todays society who like to milk illness and make a big deal over it, because they believe it makes them "special" some how (regardless of your religious standpoint, survival of the fittest is a pretty much accepted fact (in the wild, the lion who can't catch its prey dies, as does its family), so therefor weakness is not a thing to be celebrated) this man, merely publicly acknowledged his illness in a cryptic crossword, he didn't want to make a statement, he probably didn't even know if anyone would care, he just said it, and carried on.

(probably should point out by people, i mean fully grown adults, who's frontal lobe are intact, who should be aware of the concept of community, children (below 16), it is entirely acceptable for them to milk illness, as they ONLY have a sense of self, as far as they're concerned, them, and their immediate family, are the only things that matter.)

If the entire human race were as selfless as this man, we'd be in a lot better state than we are now.

I wish him much happiness in his remaining years, and hope he dies with the respect and dignity he deserves.
And fingers crossed he may go into spontaneous remission, or there may be a break through any time now.

little bits of goodness shine brighter than all the evil put together

HARRY POTTER SPOILERS

OMG saw harry potter yesterday with sophie (don't think i've mentioned her on here yet: sophie is my best friend from highschool, she tells everyone i'm her gay best friend who's not gay :) )

WHAT A FUCKING FILM omfg i have never been so transfixed in a film in whole my life, its EASILY the best harry potter film so far, (well, obviously its the last :( )

WTF happened to neville, he's turned into some bad ass gangster chappy :P "YOU AND WHOS ARMY" :') proper love neville

was sure hermoine was gonna kill the snake at some point, and that would have been bad, but she didn't so its all good :D

love voldemorts laugh always makes me giggle :P and then when harry just flops out of hagrids arms (very hagrid light film this one, i'd forgotten all about him until he was held captive by the death eaters (and i don't remember the film explaining why) )

of course just like the books theres a few loose ends (such as where did the death eaters go, does anyone ever find the resurrection stone again, we also never met tonks and lupins kid) but you know, thats life i guess.

i also realised that harry is a serious mommas boy, when he was talking to the dead people from his life before he fought voldemort in the forbidden forest, he spent more time talking to his mother, but he's supposed to be just like james, his father. but again, thats life

just a quick gif before i go, if you've seen the film, you'll get this, if not, probably you wont :) even if you've read the books
